We had the privilege of working with the Canadian Military and Parks Canada this December filming avalanche control procedures up in Roger’s Pass, BC. In a mock-firing demonstration situation, our objective was to to obtain live-narrated footage demonstrating the deployment of the C3 105 mm howitzer in Rogers Pass for avalanche control with an emphasis on precision blind-firing as an essential component of the programme. This filming will be edited into an archival record stored in the Revelstoke Museum & Archives and clips from this footage will be used in the Land of Thundering Snow (LTS) virtual exhibit and other Parks Canada related uses.
